Ghosts on the Hutch

Booquette

Ghosts on the hutch

Rachel's old farmhouse dining room, a hutch full of white ironstone, and a string of felt ghosts with little black bows drifting across the middle shelf. She set the whole thing up so her three kids could have a Halloween party of their own.

The moment

Whimsical, not too spooky

Rachel loves mixing old and new, so the Booquette set went straight into the oldest room in the house. Ghost plates stacked on a tray, the black ghost napkins beside them, taper candles down the length of the sideboard and donuts under a cloche. Then she added her own touch: little ghosts made from vintage napkins and candlesticks tucked in among the ironstone.

old things tell a story

The point was never a big party. It was a small one, for her kids, at their own table. They absolutely loved it, and the room looked like it had been waiting for exactly this.

I love mixing old and new, so I knew this sweet Halloween set from My Mind’s Eye would be perfect in our old farmhouse dining space.
