A Halloween Table in an 1890 House

Halloween Village

A Halloween table in an 1890 house

Margy lives in a house built in 1890, and this October the dining room got the full treatment. A paper village glowing down the center of the table, a lit witch hat at the end, black lace over dark wood, and a witch on a broom sailing over the whole thing.

The moment

No party. No guest list. Just because.

Margy is 63, retired, and happily married for 43 years. She loves being creative and sharing it with others, and she will tell you straight out that this table was not for a party. It was strictly for Instagram, and for her. That is how it usually happens.

it doesn't have to be for a reason.

She likes Halloween for the memories it brings from when she was a kid, when her family went all out to try and scare the trick or treaters. You can feel that in this room. Candles lit down the length of the table, a village of little houses glowing shoulder to shoulder, and a skeleton witch hanging off the chandelier like she just came in through the window.

I like to be creative, and it doesn't have to be for a reason.
