Baking cup questions, answered
How do you use baking cups?
Fill the cup about halfway with batter, that's one large 2 oz scoop, or 3.5 to 4 tablespoons, then place the cups on a cookie sheet with a little room between each for air circulation, and bake. The cups are sturdy enough to stand on their own, so there's no muffin tin required. Want a cupcake that domes above the rim? Fill three-quarters of the way instead.
Are paper baking cups oven safe?
Yes. Our baking cups are oven safe up to 375°, and they're food and freezer safe too. They're not meant for the microwave, though, keep them to the oven, the freezer, and the party table.
Do you need a muffin tin or greasing?
Neither, that's the best part. These are freestanding baking cups: set them on a regular cookie sheet and they hold their shape in the oven. And they come pre-coated, so no greasing, no liners, no sticking.
What can you bake in baking cups?
Cupcakes, muffins, sweet breads, brownies, small pies, mini cheesecakes, and mini quiches all bake beautifully. One boxed cake mix makes about 16 cupcakes in our cups since they're larger than a standard muffin tin. Fill halfway, bake at up to 375°, and serve right in the cup, the paper tears at the seam just like a cupcake wrapper.
What else can baking cups be used for?
Beyond baking, use them as treat cups: nuts, candies, charcuterie, cookies, snacks, ice cream, or veggies with dip. Fill one with candy and wrap it in cellophane and you've got an instant party favor, teacher gift, or neighbor treat.
What size are the baking cups and how many come in a box?
Each cup is approximately 2.75 inches round and 2.25 inches tall and holds 5 ounces. A box includes 50 baking cups, 25 each of 2 coordinating designs, so the set mixes and matches on its own. They're single-use, made of paper and not meant to be reused.
